Interview with Rossi after tests

gp12 tuck_sepangValentino might have some sweet dreams tonight, the new Desmosedici is finally on his taste.

It seems the sun starts to shine and the black clouds of doubt will scatter soon: "I shortened to half the gap that i had in Valencia" meaning, 0.7 of a second away from Lorenzo but only 0.2 away from Spies and Crutchlow.

How would you describe on short this day?

I am happy, this new bike has a very good base where we can start working from. We managed to improve on all aspects that last season kept us still. This is wonderful

Can you go more intro details with this?

I can sit better in the saddle, as a position, I can ride now as I want to and I have so much fun. Besides that, on braking and entering the corner we deal with such a huge step forward but also in changing direction faster which was another problem that we had.

What changed?

Everything. Still, this is a new born bike, we are at the very beginning with it but now we finally can work better with the tires and bring these at optimum temperature.

You didn't find any bad points?

We are still suffering when accelerating, there it is where we loose much of the time, the power management is to brutal.

It's an engine related problem?

I don't think so, our engine is very powerful, we must work on electronics because Honda for instance, manages to put all their horsepower on ground.

A big problem of GP 11 was that it didn't reacted to different settings, is it different with GP 12?

All is ok now, we tried little changes during the day and we constantly improved the times, an impossible thing to do some months ago.

How can you translate all these changes in terms of riding the bike?

I feel stronger and safer, i can finally brake as I like to and take my own lines, i made 40 laps today without a single error. Now everything is under control.

Did you expected for this?

I tell you this: before this test I could only dream about it being like this.

What do you expect now in the future?

I think that when you test a totally new bike, the good day you start to see it happen since morning and I tell you, this was such a good morning that happened. I don't have any objectives, now we need to work because until a victory to be possible we still miss some things and after all the three days will be over, we'll have a more clear image of the situation.
To see the real limits of the bike you must start lapping in range of 2' or 1'59" on this track.

You also tested out the new Bridgestone tires.

They work a little bit better than the old ones but I didn't noticed a big difference.
