It seems Ducati will release a successor for the 848 model.
This will be a 'mid' ranged engine which will partially follow the 1199 Panigale but the rumors say this won't be a 'racing bike' because of the FIM rules about the engine sizes.
If it was for the Borgo Panigale Factory to build a Supersport bike, they should have managed it within the 799cc limit but this won;t happen, so the next Ducati will be named: 899.
The engine will be a twin cylinder with a L 90° and will be a totally new agregate and developed after the bigger 1199. It will produce around 155 Hp at a maximum 11500 revs.
The way of building the bike will be the same, monocoque but the big change is due to happen for the swing arm, the one sided swingarm will be replaced by a two sided 'banana' style that Aprilia also uses.
So, we'll have to wait and see at EICMA 2013 what is this thing all about.
